The Sun

太阳

Major ArcanaFireSun

A radiant sun shines in a bright blue sky, its face beaming with warmth and benevolence. Below, a naked child rides a white horse with arms outstretched in pure joy, symbolizing the innocence and freedom that come with enlightenment. Four sunflowers grow tall behind a grey wall — they represent the four suits of the tarot and the four elements, all thriving under the Sun's nurturing light. The red banner the child carries represents vitality, passion, and the life force. After the illusions of the Moon, the Sun brings total clarity. The Sun is the most unambiguously positive card in the tarot. It represents the triumph of light over darkness, clarity over confusion, joy over despair. Like the actual sun, this card's energy is generous, warm, and life-giving. When the Sun appears in a reading, it promises success, happiness, and the simple but profound pleasure of being alive. Celebrate — you have earned this moment of radiance.
